Rubber Gasket

Gasket is a mechanical seal that prevents leaks between different substrate sections. Gaskets can be made of rubber or metal. Earlier, it was believed that only metal was durable and strong enough to withstand wear and extreme pressure. That belief changed with the advent of thick rubbers that are robust and strong enough to endure all kinds of wear and high pressure associated with various Gaskets. Some rubber gaskets would need to withstand extreme heat, as well as extreme cold, while others would be exposed to strong chemicals that might act as corrosives and would be dangerous to certain types of rubber. Rubber Gasket should thus, have excellent cold and heat resistance, good weather congeniality, flexibility and lack of absorption.
